RLS Remote Learning School

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026. This policy covers RemoteLearning.school, Homeschool Pro™, Afterschool Plus™ and the related services listed below, all operated by RemoteLearn LLC.

The short version. We collect the information needed to run a homeschool program: the parent's contact and payment details, each student's name and grade, and the student's work and progress. We use it to teach, grade, keep records and support your family. We never sell personal information, never show advertising to students, and never use a student's information to build a profile for any purpose other than their education. You can see, correct or delete your family's information by emailing info@remotelearning.school.

1. Who we are

RemoteLearn LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates RemoteLearning.school and the Homeschool Pro™ and Afterschool Plus™ programs. Our address is 2108 N St, STE 4119, Sacramento, CA 95816. Questions about privacy can be sent to info@remotelearning.school.

This policy applies to our public website (remotelearning.school), the online classroom and checkout (kids.remotelearning.school), the certificate portal (certificates.remotelearning.school), the assignments portal (assignments.rls.school), the knowledge base and forums, student email accounts we issue, the forms we use to enroll students and issue ID cards, and the emails we send you.

2. Information we collect from parents and guardians

When you enroll, we collect what we need to set up and bill your membership and to support you:

  • Your name, email address and, if you provide it, phone number and mailing address.
  • Payment details, which are collected and processed by our payment providers (see section 6). We do not store full card numbers on our systems.
  • The state or country you homeschool in, so we can assign an advisor familiar with your requirements.
  • Information you give us when you fill out our forms, contact support, chat with us, email your advisor, or send us documents such as state forms, transcripts from prior schools, or records you'd like added to your child's transcript.
  • For a teacher ID card: your name and the photo you submit for the card.

3. Information we collect about students

Parents create and control student accounts. We collect student information only from the parent or guardian, or through the student's use of the classroom the parent has set up. This includes:

  • The student's first and last name, age and grade level, as entered by the parent on the Learner Enrollment Form. The name is used on the student's ID card, certificates, report cards, transcript and diploma.
  • Login credentials and a @remotelearning.school email address issued for the student.
  • The student's work and progress: lessons completed, quiz, test and exam results, assignments submitted, instructor feedback, certificates earned, and the records we prepare from them (report cards, transcripts, diploma).
  • A photo, if the parent submits one for the student ID card.
  • Content the student chooses to submit to optional activities, such as science fair or talent show entries, magazine articles, or Youth Advisory Board participation. We publish such content only with the parent's permission.

We collect the minimum needed for these purposes. We do not ask students for information that isn't necessary for their coursework, and student accounts have no advertising and no public profiles.

4. How we use information

  • To provide the program: set up accounts, deliver lessons, grade work, issue certificates, and prepare report cards, transcripts and diplomas.
  • To support your family: answer questions, provide homeschool advisor support, and help with the forms and records your state requires when you ask.
  • To bill and manage your membership, including renewals, receipts and payment reminders.
  • To communicate with you about your membership, your students' progress, and program updates. We may also send parents (never students) news about classes and features; you can unsubscribe from those at any time using the link in the email.
  • To improve the program, for example by seeing which lessons are used and where students get stuck, using information that is aggregated wherever possible.
  • To keep our systems secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use student information for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles of students for any purpose other than their education and records.

5. Children's privacy

Our programs are designed for children, including children under 13, and we take their privacy seriously. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state student privacy laws. In practice this means:

  • Only a parent or guardian can enroll a student. By enrolling and entering your child's information, you consent to our collecting and using it as described in this policy.
  • We collect only the student information needed to provide the program and keep the student's records.
  • We never show advertising to students, never sell student information, and never share it with third parties except the service providers who help us run the program (section 6) or as required by law.
  • Parents can review their child's information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (section 9). We may keep the records we've issued, such as transcripts and certificates, where we're required to or where you ask us to.
  • If we learn we've collected information from a child without a parent's involvement, we delete it.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with the companies that help us run the program, and only for that purpose. They are permitted to use it solely to provide their service to us. Our current providers include:

  • Thinkific, which hosts the online classroom, student accounts, course progress and our checkout.
  • Payment processors, which run our checkout, and the pay-over-time providers Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay when you choose one at checkout. They handle your payment information under their own privacy policies.
  • Formsite, which hosts our enrollment and ID card forms.
  • HelpDesk and LiveChat, which power our support tickets and the live chat on our contact page.
  • Endorsal and Reviews.io, which we use to invite parents to leave a review and to display reviews. An invitation may include your name and email address; leaving a review is voluntary and published under the name you choose.
  • Email providers we use to send program emails and to host student @remotelearning.school email accounts.
  • Learning tools embedded in some lessons, such as LearnAdventure™ interactive modules and our exam platform.
  • YouTube and other video hosts for embedded lesson and program videos, which may set their own cookies when a video is played.
  • Web infrastructure such as hosting and security providers, and Google Fonts for typefaces on our website.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the safety of a student or another person, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case the successor would be bound by this policy.

7. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website and classroom use cookies that are necessary for them to work, such as keeping you logged in and remembering your preferences. Support chat, embedded videos and the review badges in our footer may set cookies from the providers named above.

We advertise our program to parents on platforms such as Facebook. If we use analytics or advertising measurement tools on our public website, they apply only to our marketing pages for adults and never to the student classroom. You can limit cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your family's information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward so you can return, request records, or reactivate. Records we have issued, such as certificates, transcripts, report cards and diplomas, are kept so they can be verified and reissued at your request. You can ask us to delete your family's information at any time (section 9).

9. Your choices and rights

You can review and update your account information in your Parent Portal, and you can email info@remotelearning.school from the address on your account to:

  • request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your or your child's information, subject to records we're required or asked to keep;
  • stop marketing emails (you can also use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email).

We will respond within the time required by law, and we may need to verify that the request comes from the parent on the account. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the rights to know, delete and correct personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we use sensitive information only to provide the program. To make a request, email us as above.

Residents of the European Union and United Kingdom. We process personal information to perform our contract with you, to comply with law, with your consent where required, and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the program. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent and to complain to your data protection authority. We are based in the United States, and information you provide is stored and processed there.

10. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit who on our team can see student and family records, and providers chosen for their own security practices. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your family's information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.

11. Public content and reviews

We sometimes publish student achievements, such as science fair and talent show winners, graduates, magazine articles or Youth Advisory Board members, and testimonials from families. We do this only with the permission of the parent or guardian, and we'll remove such content on request.

12. Links to other sites

Our pages link to other websites, including course catalog pages, social media, and the providers named above. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies when you visit them.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we handle student information, notify parents by email.
